The Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Circular Plastics Economy CCPE presents two main topics at IFAT 2024: chemical recycling and the demonstrator "reusable transport box". We cordially invite you to visit us at the trade fair!

Fraunhofer CCPE's "Reusable Transport Box" demonstrator combines the potential of circular plastic compounds with innovative manufacturing processes for component production. Newly developed mono-material approaches based on PLA, bio-based foams with functional additives and odour-optimized recyclates open up promising design possibilities for the realization of circular product designs. At the stand of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML (Hall B4 Stand 153 and 352), you will not only receive information on the reusable transport box, but also on adapted digitalization and logistics concepts for the efficient coordination of material and information flows.

The Fraunhofer CCPE will be exhibiting chemical recycling in cooperation with the VDMA. At the VDMA Spotlight Area (Hall B4 Stand 239 and 338), visitors will experience a tour through the circular world of plastics recycling. Finding the right process is often a challenge, especially for waste that is difficult to recycle. With the CCPE recycling cascade for plastic waste, which consists of a combination of three innovative Fraunhofer technologies, high-quality plastic recyclates can be produced with optimized product yields. This waste includes, for example, mixed packaging waste, shredder residues or composite materials that can no longer be recycled using conventional mechanical processes. The input materials are pre-sorted and then treated using a combination of three innovative recycling technologies: solvent-based process, solvolysis and iCycle® process.
