Pyrolysis

The iCycle® pyrolysis system processes difficult-to-recycle waste streams containing plastics, for example packaging waste, composite materials or shredder fractions (WEEE, automotive). The plastics are converted to pyrolysis oil and gas, which can be upgraded to base chemicals or used as an energy source. Precious metals, fibres and additives are accumulated in the solid phase and can be recovered.

The iCycle® system has an innovative, patented heat exchanger technology and thus allows for controlled heat transfer into the feed material. The capacity of the reactors ranges from pilot plant scale (0.5 kg/h) to demonstration scale (70 kg/h). Various downstream process routes (distillation, hydrotreatment) to comply with industrial specifications are also available.
