Shaping the Circular Plastics Economy for Mobility

The transition to sustainable mobility also requires new solutions for the use of plastics. In addition to high standards for safety, functionality, and durability, recyclability, the use of high-quality recycled materials, and the recovery of valuable raw materials are becoming increasingly important.

At InnoTrans 2026, Fraunhofer CCPE will present innovative approaches to the circular economy for plastics in the rail and mobility industries. The focus will be on solutions that enable closed-loop material cycles and keep plastics in the economic cycle as a valuable resource over the long term.

From Tuesday, September 22, through Thursday, September 24, 2026, Fraunhofer CCPE will also be represented at the Fraunhofer joint booth in Hall 23, Booth 240 and invites visitors to discuss current research and development projects.

On September 23, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the presentation “Fraunhofer Cluster Circular Plastics Economy – Our Contribution to Converting Plastics Waste to Value” will provide insights into current technologies and strategies for returning plastic waste to the economic cycle as high-quality raw materials.
