Fraunhofer CCPE in the exhibition "World Trade. History, Present, Perspectives"

On the occasion of the 375th anniversary of the Peace of Westphalia, the MIK presents an exhibition on the worldwide trade in goods that traces an arc from the "first" globalization in the 17th century to the present. It highlights long-term developments and disruptions, promotes an understanding of today's structures and encourages new ways of looking at things. At a time when globalization is increasingly criticized, it directs attention to its "birth" and seeks to fathom the origins of current problems. The focus is on the interrelationship between society, economy and nature - the question of how world trade can be shaped in the future in social, ecological and economic terms.

The Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Circular Plastics Economy CCPE is exhibiting the "circular" child seat of the future here: What if a child seat could be disassembled very easily? Put it together, screw it together, and that's it. Customers and companies can quickly replace fabrics when they get dirty or used. Or add new modules when the child has grown. Shipping in small packages protects the environment. Customers no longer buy, but lease from a pool of used child seat components. If the parts are no longer usable after decades, they are recycled - simplified by the use of similar and easy-to-sort materials, e.g. PLA.
