CANCELLED: At the summit, players from all points of the compass will meet and network in order to rethink the plastics value chain together.

Interview /

On February 8 and 9, 2023 the first Fraunhofer CCPE Summit will take place in Munich. We asked Prof. Dr.-Ing. Manfred Renner, Head of Fraunhofer CCPE, for a short interview on his expactation for the event.

Thank you for your interest in the event! Unfortunately, the Fraunhofer CCPE Summit 2023 is cancelled.
With the Summit we strive to create a platform of the Circular Plastics Economy for European network-ing (science, economy, politics) and impact. Unfortunately, at the present time and in view of the over-all crisis situation, we are unable to meet this objective. It is intended to hold the Summit at a later date after a thorough analysis.

Fraunhofer CCPE: So what can participants expect at the Fraunhofer CCPE Summit 2023?

Prof. Dr. Manfred Renner: Strategies, research results and implementation projects of the circular plastics economy will be presented and discussed at the first Fraunhofer CCPE Summit in 2023 on the 8 and 9 February 2023. Together with our partners TNO and the Circular Valley, we will offer business, politics, science and society a forum to exchange ideas for solutions and innovations. With the motto "Get into the loop", the Munich Marriot Hotel will be the meeting place for the international circular economy community.

What are you personally looking forward to most at the Fraunhofer CCPE Summit?

Fraunhofer CCPE: And what are you personally looking forward to most?

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Manfred Renner: I am looking forward to providing answers and discussing the following questions: How can we make all Circular Economy principles, i.e. the ten R-strategies, known? How can industry, science and society cooperate in a transformation to a circular plastics economy with a long-range impact?

Cross-industry cooperation – very local, but also regional and international – is the precondition for a successful circular plastics economy. At the summit, players from all points of the compass will meet and network in order to rethink the plastics value chain together.
