Anna Krüger
Anna Krüger heads (together with Sabrina Schreiner) the Research Department “Application and Demonstration.” Together with her team, she develops technology demonstrators to bring Fraunhofer CCPE innovations to life, and also focuses on the processing of recyclable monomaterial systems. The goal of her work is to enable maximum lightweight design using a single material and to support industry partners in implementing sustainable product and process solutions.
What do you work on at Fraunhofer CCPE? What creative ideas are you currently pursuing in your research area?
In the RD team “Application and Demonstration,” we collaborate to develop technology demonstrators that illustrate and bring CCPE innovations to life. To do this, we focus on material and process developments suitable for large-scale production and work in close coordination with CCPE researchers from other areas. In addition, I work on the processing of recyclable monomaterial systems using self-reinforced plastics, and together with my colleagues, I pursue the goal of enabling maximum lightweight design using just one material.
What does your typical workday look like?
My daily work as a scientist is a colorful and very varied mix, consisting of supporting companies in answering their questions about process and material developments with a focus on recyclable monomaterial systems, as well as developing and working on innovative project ideas in collaboration with our partners. In addition to desk-based project work, I also appreciate the experimental and hands-on work in the technical laboratory.
What invention in the field of the Circular Plastics Economy are you personally hoping for?
I hope that our developments will find their way into widespread use and eventually become a natural part of our everyday lives.
